HAPPY NEW YEARS :D

Well Everyone, Tonight was a good night.
And My belief of New Years Eve sucks ass has officially been changed.
Even though I did not get to spend time with my boyfriend who was a at a party, I got to spend time with a friend instead. So far the year has started off well and i really did enjoy myself..its sooo funny. Something and SOmeone has changed my thought on today and it was great!
But As the New Year has started...I lost my internship :( because of my mother, and my boyfriend is somewhat upset with me. But I will not let this all ruin my day or year. Plenty Great Things will be coming my way. I love life, and hope to live to see many more New years.
And I will follow through my New years resolution of not letting people walk all over me, and learn to be strong! I will love myself more and not let anyone put me down. But yea..ttyl lol

I hope you all have a great year and that you all had fun tonight!

New Years Eve

So tomorrow is New Years Eve, which everyone is looking forward to, to make their new years resolution, get drunk, have fun, and party..Right? Well I won't this is how it's all going down. Im not lookin forward to Nou;ew Years EVe. I already know once it's 2010 and the excitement is over[which there will be none for me] Our Lives will go back to normal. Everyone struggling to keep on to their resolutions..give it a week and you'll forget about it. I know that on New Years Eve and New Years day and the day after that and that day after that day..aint shit going to change for me...I can feel the disastrous moments coming..and the emotional breakdowns...SO for now I say fuck New Years Eve..because the past 3 New years eve i stayed home and went to bed early..no parties no invitations..until SOmething or someone changes my thought on New Years I shall stick to my thoughts. I will see If I am able to accomplish my new years resolution[I cant believe Im making some]: I will stop letting people step all over me, and stop being so nice all the time even when Im hurt...wait i take the last part back but I will stop letting people step all over me...:D ya happy[to all my friends] sheesh!!!

So umm i mean i guess you can say happy new years to me...but Idk if that will change my day..it may bring a smile on my face. tehe

I love you guys.
And I hope you all have a great new years...just dont boast in my face bout it.

SunnySideUp-Dragg :)

This Tuesday before Halloween, I went to the most wicked event that every Gay, lesbian, straight, ect. waits for every year!...THE DRAG QUEEN RACE!
Its their day to shine, their 45 seconds to run lol.
The actual race starts at 9pm, but before that they put on a show. The streets get blocked off near U St. and Dupont Circle, while the Drag Queens strut their stuff, and show off their glorious costumes. They look fabulous, and some just hilarious.
You should deff come next year.

Lost and Found/ 2DK 15th Anniversary

This was the Art Show at Ms. Pixie & Things. It was awesome as well!
I made the B-Girl vinyl record. A lot of artists were there, and writers.

Girls Rock DC!@ 9:30 Club

This Summer I spent a week learning how to DJ at Girls Rock DC! Camp. Let me tell yall this camp was the best girl camp I've ever been to. It was a camp where you either could join a band or a DJ Crew with other girls; and your options were vocals, bass, guitar, keyboard, or drums. The Range of age was from 8-18. So of course, the older girls joined bands together, and the younger ones. What was so cool, was that you could choose your friends and people you wanted to be in your band.
During the day we had our workshops with learning about preparing a show, stage equipment, Making your Logos and business cards, Songwriting[for the bands], movement and dancing[for stage], and getting your music out there if you really wanted to continue.

I learned from 4 Female DJs; DJ Pinstripd' Rebel, Dj K La Boom, DJ K La Rock, and DJ Bullet( i don't remember her DJ name:/) I mean I may have just learned the basics of DJing, but that night at the 9:30s club I rocked the house with my partner JayBird[hype woman].  At First I was assigned with two other girls who were 14 and 10. We were going to be triple threat. But then, the other 12 year old was going to be stuck with Jaybird, age 8. Jaybird had a lot of energy and a mind of her own lol. I decided to suggest that I could be her partner and guide her through DJing since I have experience with children of her age and younger. She was also friends with my siblings of the same age and I went to the same elementary school as her, of course a long time ago. So I figured she would be comfortable with my partner, luckily everything and I mean EVERYTHING went SWELL.  :D

During the day of the performance, it was one band away from our performance, and man was I nervous. Me and Jbird were screaming our tongues out lol behind the stage, then we got ready and walked on stage. It was amazing and so much fun to see 100s of people out there. I wasn't nervous anymore. I just thought hey its our day to shine so lets rock this out!
She was the most amazing hype girl ever lol. She got the crowd moving, jumpin'. laughin, and dancing with her words. And the songs we chose got the crowd movin and the people on stage. I am currently still taking lessons with one of the Djs who worked at the camp DJ K La Rock, and at W.B.L with DJ RBI and DJ40. They are all amazing instructors. My DJ Name is DJ Jam Swizzle but I may be changing it soon. The DVD will be coming out soon of the entire show. So look out!

Moonlightin'

According to Many Folks, I have been moonlighting.lol
You could pretty much say that I am very active 24/7. I have been in almost every possible art organization center or program in Dc you can think of.
I will always attend Words Beats & Life, which is a Hip Hop Arts Academy program. They have wo locations in DC, one in Anacostia S.E, and another at St. Stephens Church, in the Columbia Heights Area. I started going there for graffiti, and I have been learning how to Dj and break dance, which is very fun. They also always have events and art shows of the students and guest performers. Guest Performers such as Underground Hip Hop Rappers, and singers, as well as the well known ones. We just recently had an Art show at Ms. Pixie & Things, called "Lost and Found: 15th Anniversary of 2DK/ The L.A.B".   We get to do a lot of graffiti mural projects for the students.

Last year, After school I also went to the Sitar Arts Center. There I took HIp-Hop, and Sewing/Fashion classes. I still take Hip HOp classes there, and I breakdance with my teacher.

And of course I went to the Arts and Media House which is combined with the LAYC Center, where I painted murals and got paid. So far, I had painted two murals with the Arts and Media HOuse. I also took a stencil class there. They have Photography, Stencil Art, Urban Art, and best of all Percussion Classes, Beatmaking, and a studio. Many of the students have made CDs of their songs and rappings. They also have art galleries, and performences. They also hold the Annual YouthFest Located on Irving St.
